Alright I wholeheartedly admit I do not watch Gossip Girl, which Chace Crawford stars in, but the young actor has now been cast as the lead in the Footloose remake. Originally High School Musical star Zac Effron was tapped to take the lead role, but eventually the actor passed on the role in order to avoid being typecast. The film has no release date as of yet but is set to begin production March 2010 Source: THR
