So, I was just watching a Jennifer Lopez routine and it made me start to think. She was wearing an uberly skimpy outfit and singing about shoes. Women gain independence and this is what they do with it? We want to be considered equal, yet we run around with our butts and boobs hanging out? We get upset when men say we aren’t as qualified as they are for certain jobs and such….yet we sing about shoes? And dancing and being popular (aka Miley Cyrus–Party in the USA).

People wonder why teenage girls dress like such sluts. Look at the people that our children are looking to as IDOLS! Miley Cyrus, Vanessa Ann Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale. When I was a kid, it was Christina Aguilera and Brittiney Spears. Miley’s video for Party in the USA is shown on Disney Channel….and her shorts are just barely covering her butt. Really? We want our kids watching this? Ashley Tisdale was recently in Boys Like Girls’ video for Love Drunk….she’s wearing shorts similar to Miley’s. If women are so “independent” and “equal” then why do we feel it’s necessary to prance around wearing pretty much nothing?

Soon, it’s going to be considered acceptable to come to school with only underwear….it’s ridiculous. No, I have no right to judge people that dress and act this way, but I feel like God wants girls to realize that they aren’t getting anywhere by dressing this way.
